If a session is cancelled due to a full mountain closure and Alpine West Ski School is unable to provide a rescheduled session prior to the program's conclusion, you are guaranteed a structured cash refund calculated precisely as a percentage of your program purchase price.
🛑 Critical Requirements for Refund Eligibility
To protect both our instructional staff and program operations, this assurance plan operates under a strict "double-trigger" rule. A cash refund is only triggered if BOTH of the following criteria are met:
The Whole Mountain Must Close: Lift operations must be completely shut down across the entire mountain by resort management on your scheduled session date. Partial closures, high-wind delays on specific lifts, terrain restrictions, or personal weather preferences do not qualify.
The Session Cannot Be Rescheduled: If a session is cancelled and the ski school is unable to offer a rescheduled session prior to the program's conclusion, a tiered refund will be authorized.
❄️ Postponements & Scheduling Flexibility
If weeks are postponed due to a severe lack of snow or operational delays, Alpine West Ski School reserves the right to reschedule lessons to alternative dates to match the ski resort's opening timelines. Rescheduled sessions ensure curriculum delivery and do not qualify for cash refunds, regardless of personal scheduling conflicts.
💰 1. Retention and Refund Structure
The $45 Lesson Assurance fee is standalone and strictly non-refundable. For the core program cost:
50% of your program cost is permanently retained by the school to protect base operations during disruptions.
The remaining 50% forms your total refund pool, distributed evenly across our 6 scheduled sessions at 8.33% of your tuition price per eligible missed day (up to the maximum 50% pool).
❌ 2. Operational Exclusions
This assurance plan specifically covers environmental or operational hazards resulting in total facility failure. It does not cover personal absences, illness, injury, transit delays, equipment failure, or subjective terrain/visibility preferences. Partial mountain closures do not constitute a closed day under these terms.
⏱️ 3. Automatic Claims and Processing
All eligible claims are audited automatically following the conclusion of the program window—no paperwork or action is required on your part. Approved refunds will be issued directly to the original form of payment within 7 to 14 business days of the final scheduled session date.
